  Kali Puja Accessories  

Kali Puja is performed on a new moon night. As Kali is associated with dark rites and demon worship, the rituals performed are austere and offered with great devotion. The list of accessories are given according to general requirements that might differ with the tradition and rituals followed.

Accessories of Kali Puja-
Sindur (vermilion),3 Boron for Guru (Spiritual guide), Purohit (priest), and Tantradharak (a Brahmin who reads out from scriptures to the priest to recite it). 3 Aashonanguriuk (Finger ring made of koosh), Borondala, (whoever have the ritual of Adhibash), 6 Yagnaupabit (a sacred thread), Til (Sesame), Horitoki (myrobalan), Ghat (pot), an earthen bowl full of atop (a type of rice),
1 Gamcha
-To cover the ghat a piece of cloth, 1Kundohari, 1 Tekatha - A triangular frame work of 3 pieces of wood, 6 Mirror, Pancha guri (5 coloured dust) -Turmeric powder, Rice powder, Kusum flower/ red aabir, rice chaff or coconut fiber burnt for the dark colour, powdered wood apple leaves (bel pata) .
Pancha ratna(5 gems)
-Gold, Silver, Emerald, Pearls, Jewel. (Original- Gold, Diamond, Sapphire, Ruby, Pearl) .
Panchagobbo(5 extracts of the cow)
- Milk, Pure Ghee, Curd, Cow Dung and Cow's urine,
Panchasashya
(5 food grains)
-Paddy, Sesame, Mashkalai (a kind of pulses), Moong (a kind of pigeon pea) and Barley.
Panchapallab
(5 varieties of leaves)
- in case of Tantric rituals these leaves are: Jackfruit, Mango, Ashthya ( a kind of Indian fig-tree), Banyan and Bakul (a flowering plant), 4 arrows, Green coconut with stalk,,1 wooden plate, 3 bowls of Madhuparka (a mixture of honey, curd, ghee, sugar for oblation), Curd, Honey, Ghee, Sugar, Tulsi (basil), 3 Bilwapatramalya ( garlands of wood apple leaf) Flowers and Durba (a kind of grass having three pointed tips) etc.
A sati(sari) for Shyamapuja , 2 dhoties (for Vishnu and Mahakal). Loha(iron), 2 Shankha (Conch Shell), Noth (nose ring),
1 Sindur chubri
-a cane basket having a small mirror, a comb, two conch shell bangles, one iron bangle, two coral bangles, alta (lac-dye used to paint border of feet), vermilion and few kories. Chandmala (Dangler with circular sponge decorations), Bhoger drobbadi (materials for the feast).
Things for Homn (fire for yagna)- sand, wood, 1 khorke (a kind of twig), Ghee -3 bottle, 28 or 108 Bilyapatra (wood apple leaves), Karpur (camphor),
Coconut, Tambul/Pan ( Beetle leaves), Pan masala (ingredients used in preparing a beetle leaf), 1 wooden plate, 1 Ghot (a type of pot),  flower garland, goat for sacrifice, Aarati and Dakhina (offerings in cash and kind to the priest).
