Make Your Own Rakhi
Making Rakhi is a work of art. Colourful Rakhis adorned with glitters and silken threads can be made with much finess. Making Rakhi for brothers and friends can be an enriching experience too. Rakhi making is a creative work and a beautiful one will be worn with a sense of pride by the wearer. So this Rakhi Festival try your hand at Rakhi Making.

  
  Material needed:
Satin ribbons
Silk net
Cotton thread and needle

How to Make a Rakhi:
Start with the silk net. Create frills by stitching it. Stitch the two ends of the net so that it looks like a flower.

 
 
 
Then take the satin ribbons of three different colours. By rolling them separately you can give them the shape of rose. So now you have the three roses of three different colours.
  
 
  Now you stitch those roses on the net. And on the opposite side of the net you can stitch a ribbon to tie the rakhi on your brother's hand. You can stick or stitch a swastik in place of the roses, as swastik is a sign of glory, progress and blessings. A simple yet fabulous rakhi is created by you.
