Uttarayan Complex
Shantiniketan is a University township and a centre of education. The Uttarayan compound where the versifier lived consists of numerous buildings such as Udayana. Konark, Shyamali, Punascha and Udichi which replicate the architectural brilliance of the poet's memorable son the late Rathindranath Tagore. The Shantiniketan university grounds of Viswa Bharati has grown-up up to be a centre for knowledge with a prejudice towards art, melody and humanities. The places of interest are mainly on the campus and have a distinctive feature of some of the best in Indian art and culture.

Chhatimtala
Here Maharshi Devendranath, the father of Rabindranath Tagore, used to contemplate. Prayers are held normally at Convocation time. Victorious graduates of the Vishwa Bharati University are offered a bough of five leaves apiece from the Saptaparni trees which are plentiful in the locale. A number of the renowned students of Visva-Bharati include India's previous Prime Mister the Ms Indira Gandhi (1917-1984), globe famed film director Mr.Satyajit Ray (1921-1992) and Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen.

Kala Bhavan
The College of Fine Arts & Crafts has an museum exhibiting sculptures, frescoes & murals and a documentation of art books. At the Kala Bhavan and the Sangeet Bhavan the arts were specified their apt position in the Indian learning system.
Patha Bhavan
At present a secondary school, it is of fastidious importance as an paradigm of the long-established 'Brahmacharya Ashram'.

Prayer Hall
Established by the poet's father in 1863, the hall is finished of glass. Prayers are held on Wednesday.
Bichitra
Also called Rabindra Bhavan, a Research Centre and Museum where the poet's individual possessions, paintings & a variety of editions of his works are exhibited.

Sangeet Bhavan
College of Dance and Music. The University is stuffed with facility on Art, Music and the Humanities.

Tarapith (80 kms)
One can reach Tarapith firstly from Bolpur to Rampurhat by train or bus and then 5 kms by bus or cycle rickshaw. Ramkanai Dharamshala a number of hotels are there.

Deer Park / Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary
Positioned at Ballavpur forest is 4 km from Shantiniketan. Black Buck, spotted deer, jackals, foxes and a variety of water birds are found here.
